Departure from Agadir at 8:00 by our Driver Guide to Taroudant, known as “the little Marrakesh”. It is spectacular for its massive ramparts and beautiful medina. We continue to Taliouine, the heart of the saffron growing area of Morocco and on to Kourkouda and then Taznakht. This small town is famous for its Berber Gelims and carpets. From here the road continues to Agdez via Bouazzer to spend the first night in Kasbah Tamnougalte, the oldest Kasbah in the Dra’a Valley.
After breakfast there will be a visit to the Kasbah itself before continuing south and then east at Tansikht towards Merzouga. We stop for lunch at a riad in N’Qob overlooking the mountains. Later we pass through Tazzarine, featured in the film “Babel” and reach the bivouac in Merzouga, where you will be greeted with a glass of tea. After you have settled a little, we will taking a camel ride to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. Later there is dinner and the night in a nomad tent at the foot of the dunes.
If you wake up early, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. After breakfast you can walk in the dunes before leaving for the Toudgha gorges for lunch. The road passes through Tinjdad and the Toudgha Valley. Here there are plenty of opportunities to walk, such as along the river through the gardens or up the road on the other side of the gorges. Later the itinerary continues to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorges for the night inside the big canyon of Dades (Guest House).
We will take a morning walk in the gorge we will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona and oasis of Skoura. The route goes on to Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage site and the backdrop for many Hollywood blockbusters. It is the most famous Ksar in Morocco. From there the road continues to Telouet, along the new asphalted road. Telouet is set right in the midst of the mountains and was once the seat of the last Pasha of Marrakesh, El Glaoui, from where the highest pass in Africa, Tizi-n-Tichka was controlled. At the end of the afternoon we arrive in Marrakesh. Night in Hotel or Riad.
Free Day in Marrakech, a city famous for its Jemaa el Fna, which will occupy much of our time: an amalgam of aromas, sounds and sensations unique. The city also has plenty of places you wander and enjoy: Gardens Majorelle, Menara, Tombs Saadianas, walks or the mellah medina (the old Jewish quarter), the route of the walls, the modern city (Gueliz) with Western lifestyles.
